Professional career

Lebedev turned pro in 2001. In 2009 he beat Cuban Eliseo Castillo who holds a win over Michael Moorer but was not highly-regarded. Lebedev then managed to KO former WBO titleholder Enzo Maccarinelli. In 2010 he also KOd 2005 amateur world champion Alexander Alexeev by one-punch knockout KO2. This guaranteed him a shot at Marco Huck's WBO title.

Lebedev vs. Huck

Lebedev lost to Huck on the 18th of Dezember 2010 in Berlin by a very controversial split decision, when both the Dutch and the Spanish referee had Huck with 115-113 in front, while the US referee scored it 116-112 for Lebedev.[1] Most experts saw Lebedev as the winner, among them even German born Henry Maske, former world boxing champion and now commentator for German television. After the fight, Marco Huck claimed that he was boxing with a broken rib from the 4th round on.

Lebedev vs. Jones Jr.

In May 2011, Denis knocked out Roy Jones, Jr. with 2 seconds left in their 10 round bout.
